If you’re planning on throwing a royal wedding party this weekend, stocking up on some bank-friendly Prosecco is one sure-fire way to elevate the occasion.
To celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day, Asda is launching a brief offer on bottles of bubbles. Aptly named ‘Markle Sparkle,’ the standout product in the deal is the brand’s Yellow Label Prosecco
, which will be reduced from £6 to £5 a bottle from Wednesday 16 May – Sunday 20 May.
The bargain bubbly is described as a “delicious sparkler with zesty lemon, pear and apple fruit flavours,” and has been recognised at international wine competitions in recent years. Last year, it picked up Silver at the 2017 Decanter Awards and Bronze at the International Wine Challenge.

Also included in the promotion is the Extra Special Prosecco, which will see a price drop from £8.98 to £8. However, the biggest saving is on the Henri Cachet Champagne Brut. The well-balanced fizz is usually priced at £18 a bottle, but will be available for £12 for a longer period up to 13 June.
Along with hampers, gin and all the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle-inspired snacks
you could ever imagine, these alcohol offers are expected to boost booze sales in the lead-up to the big day. Asda predicts the sale of over £4.8M worth of fizz in the week of the royal wedding, while Lidl has also revealed a 35% increase in sparkling wine sales this week.
The discount supermarket is marking the nuptials by launching the new Broadwood’s Folly English Sparkling Wine, along with a new fizz collection starting at £5.99 a bottle. Cheers!
